Smoky Mountain Hoedown- Square Dance to Benefit The Arrowmont School
Join the Leadership Knoxville Class of 2017 as they attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records’ record for the “World’s Largest Square Dance!” Proceeds will benefit the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts which lost two buildings as a result of the Gatlinburg wildfire in November 2016. Leadership Knoxville (LK) has partnered with Arrowmont for 20+ years to host its flagship program’s annual opening retreat. In addition to being exposed to the unique history and world-renown reputation of Arrowmont, LK members participate in a group square dance meant to cultivate and strengthen friendships, and instill a sense of teamwork and accomplishment. The LK17 Class wants to show its appreciation to Arrowmont for its long-standing partnership with LK as well as supporting it in its rebuilding efforts so that it can continue its decades-long reputation around the world as a visual arts education showplace.
