Senior Care Calls (C19)
Although social distancing is an effective way to minimize the risk COVID-19 presents to seniors, the feelings of loneliness and depression could rise. Also an increase in errand support is expected in our community. Through friendly, non-clinical conversational language combined with suggestions of healthy activities, and coaching we can help reduce the feeling of loneliness.
We need your help maintaining regular contact with our seniors during the COVID-19 social distancing protocol. Your work will help our seniors keep food in their homes, maintain their medication, and provide errand support as necessary.
Training is provided. Basic technical skills (use of cell phone and/or computer) required.
Most volunteers are assigned 1 or 2 seniors to call. Volunteers develop a positive and supportive relationship with their seniors by calling each of their seniors twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursday anytime from 9:00-12:00.
Optional running errands for your seniors.
