Help Kids Read at Spring Hill Elementary
Remember when you learned how to read? If you’re like most people, you might not. But you probably remember how reading made you feel. The Knox County Mayor’s Office and Knox County Schools, along with Great Schools Partnership are proud to introduce Leaders for Readers: a new volunteer program to help first, second, and third grade students practice and grow their reading skills. Our mission is to raise the number of students in Knox County who can read proficiently by the end of third grade. Studies have shown us time and time again that literacy is best obtained by the end of third grade. Help us give more students the one-on-one support and practice they need in these critical years to better develop strong and deep reading skills. Let us know you're in! You can sign up for a volunteer schedule by: -Clicking the "Express Interest" button below. OR -Visiting GreatSchoolsPartnership.com/LFRvolunteer and submitting the form. Once your form has been reviewed, you will receive an email with an introduction to the "Reader Leaders" at this school who will help orient you to the school and program. Visit GreatSchoolsPartnership.com/Leaders-For-Readers or call 865-215-2820 to learn more.
