Coming Together to Split-Tree Debris Clean Up (SC)
Volunteer East Tennessee is cleaning up tree debris from the affected home sites after the November 2016 Sevier County fires. This is a hands-on project and requires volunteers that are comfortable with physical work.
This experience includes opportunities to utilize chainsaws to cut trees that are already felled into logs to be split into firewood. Additionally volunteers will split wood with a splitter, clean wood debris, pull limbs to the chipper for mulch.
Volunteers should be 14 years and older to participate in this volunteer opportunity. We ask all volunteers to wear sturdy, long pants, close toed shoes, and dress in layers. Gloves and eye protection will be provided.
This is an all day project, please pack snacks, water, and a sack lunch. Please note: In case of inclement weather, you will receive an email the evening prior to the volunteer opportunity informing you of changes.
You will be contacted the evening before your volunteer experience giving you the address of where to being the day.
