Volunteer East Tennessee is closely monitoring the rapidly evolving circumstances surrounding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and its potential impact on our region. Our top priority is the health and safety of the community. We are working with the City of Knoxville, Knox County, the United Way of Greater Knoxville, and the Alliance for Better Nonprofits to identify how we can best serve nonprofits and community organizations during this uncertain and stressful time.
Following guidance from local leaders and recommendations on social distancing, we encourage our nonprofit partners to cancel or postpone all in-person volunteer activities that are not considered essential services.
We are working to identify volunteer opportunities that have emerged in response to COVID-19, including those associated with schools and social services partners. (These organizations may be reliant on volunteers to deliver essential services during this time.)
Partner organizations are still able to maintain and add volunteer opportunities as they deem appropriate.
Any organization that needs assistance in posting or has critical volunteer needs should fill out the form below or contact Amelea Everett at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We do not yet know the extent to which COVID-19 will impact our region, but we remain committed to responsible volunteerism. Our organization brings people together across lines of difference to build a stronger East Tennessee. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to limit any unintentional harm toward volunteers, organizations, and populations we strive to serve.
