EAST TENNESSEE
We believe that the most powerful force is the individual who has realized their power to do good. Volunteer East Tennessee serves the nine county region of Anderson, Blount, Grainger, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Roane, Sevier and Union Counties with the goal of promoting ways to serve and improve the communities of East Tennessee.

OUR MISSION
Volunteer East Tennessee inspires service by equipping organizations and mobilizing volunteers to connect with one another and strengthen communities.
OUR STORY
2014 Volunteer Knoxville is formed; a dedicated volunteer as a gift for the community to promote service and commemorate Leadership Knoxville’s 30th Anniversary
2016 Volunteer Knoxville became Volunteer East Tennessee to better serve the region and opened the Volunteer Reception Center in response to the wildfires in Sevier County.
2017 Discontinued daily operations in Sevier County after more than 21,000 volunteers served over 90,000 in disaster recovery efforts
2018 In just four years, over 23,000 active volunteer accounts were created via VolunteerETN.org
2019 Organized KnoxGives a community-wide day of service in conjunction with the United Way of Greater Knoxville’s Big Give on Giving Tuesday fundraising event
2021 Volunteer East Tennessee and United Way of Greater Knoxville merge to create one of the largest volunteer-oriented nonprofits in the state of Tennessee
