Samantha (Sam) Pohlot // CAC SeniorCorps

Sam is a Middle TN transplant originally from Connecticut. Sam graduated from Austin Peay State University with a degree in Psychology and a concentration in Women’s & Gender Studies and Studio Art.

She started her career by supporting young girls in social work, but eventually found a passion helping young people through non-profit work. For five years, Sam traveled from Michigan, up-state New York, and Pennsylvania, teaching innercity kids outdoor science, team building, survival, canoeing, swimming, and ceramics.

In 2017, home was calling; so Sam moved to Knoxville to be closer to family and serve as a Marketing AmeriCorps VISTA with Goodwill Industries Knoxville. After her AmeriCorps term, she continued her career in national service with the CAC SeniorCorps program as their Retired and Senior Volunteer Program Coordinator. Now Sam matches seniors with their ideal volunteer service opportunity! In her free time, Sam continues to hike, travel, garden, make ceramics, and volunteer throughout the Knoxville community.

Connect with Sam on LinkedIn & say hello to her at an upcoming ETVMA Meetup 👋
