Our goal at Avalon Hospice is to enrich the quality of life as life’s journey nears its completion - one of our favorite thing we do for our patients is help celebrate their birthday by provding balloons, cake, and a card. This is a great opportunity if you enjoy making people feel special, especially on their big day!

Join us for the 9th(!) year of this wonderful event! With speakers, vendors, banding demonstrations, and children's activities, there is something for everyone. Volunteers support this event in many different ways (set-up, admission table, parking attendants, childrens activities), and volunteers are needed from 5:30am to 4pm. Volunteers who serve a minimum of 3 hours get into the event for free!
Exclusively native flora has been planted in the Wild Yards Garden to showcase how simple, beneficial, and feasable native gardening at home is is. And this time of year, undesirable plants like Johnson grass are quickly encroaching on the planted natives and competing for resources.
Thus,we will be spending the morning of August 3rd tidy-ing up the garden, and we need our amazing volunteers' help!
Volunteers will meet staff at the Bluebird Barn at the entrance of the park at 8:30 AM. Work gloves, plenty of water, sunscreen and sturdy shoes are highly recommended! Please sign-up to let us know you'll be joining us.
Thank you for your support and hard work to help keep the park beautiful and functional for wildlife and visitors!
